Arif Piracha
Cofounder and Chief Executive Officer Alma Mater: LUMS Arif did his B.Sc. (Hons.) and MBA from LUMS. He has over 10 years of teaching experience and has conducted a LUMS NOP session for over 250 students. Arif's innovative teaching techniques and effective motivation skills make him the best teacher any SAT or GMAT student can hope to have. He set up the Princeton Review in Lahore and Islamabad before parting ways to set the foundation of Smartprep. He is SmartPrep's co-founder and known for his humorous antics. Hannanah Mobashir Cofounder and Director Alma Mater: Georgetown University Hannanah did her MA from Georgetown University. She is a Fulbright Scholar with a passionate drive to help students materialize their goals of making it to their dream schools. It is this very drive that led her to co-found SmartPrep. Hannanah has a penchant for making extra hard math problems and enjoys dissecting them with her students. Moreover, she takes the enigma out of Critical reading and lays out the facts bare for her students to get the ropes of verbal skills needed for standardized tests. Abdur Rehman (aka Shaukat) Assistant Branch Manager Alma Mater: Unknown Shaukat, with over eight years of experience in handling branch logistics at test preparatory centres, Shaukat is well endowed with skills to facilitate the instructors and students at SmartPrep. He is loved by the SmartPrep family for his resourcefulness and adroitness, and for the ceaseless supply of tea and Orange Tang. Aneeqa Chief Financial Officer Alma Mater: McGill University Aneeqa takes care of the numbers for us! Aneeqa recently completed her undergraduate studies in Economics & Finance from McGill University. She is very passionate about Finance, Economic Development, and Women Empowerment. She was actively involved in a host of extra curricular activities during her high school years. She has a knack for public speaking. She was amongst the top twenty debaters shortlisted for Pakistan Team at the U-19 National Debates Tournament in 2005-2006 and won the Best Delegate Award at LUMS Model UN in 2005-2006. Aqdus Aslam Instructor Alma Mater: LUMS Aqdus did her B.Sc. (Hons.) from LUMS is currently pursuing an MPhil in Educational Leadership and Management from Beaconhouse National University. She brings a fresh perspective to SmartPrep alongside her insights on effective student motivation and teachers guiding students as leaders that inspire. She is a grammar guru and can make and break the toughest verbal questions. Students love her for her lasting support, genuine optimism and an endless supply of snacks. Aqdus is also the Guidance Counselor at SICAS. Rashid Khalid Instructor Alma Mater: LUMS Rashid, a Chemistry major at LUMS SSE, adds a new flavor to chemistry for his students at SmartPrep. Chemistry with Rashid does not revolve around memorizing chemical reactions and formulas. In fact his lessons compel one to believe that Mr. Atom is indeed a spectacular creation. Teaching since the age of 14, he knows the art of stirring in his students passion for science. Asad Khalid Instructor Alma Mater: LUMS Asad, a junior at LUMS SSE, is the most recent member of the SmartPrep team. His passions range from reading fiction novels, watching television all day, being a computer troubleshooter for the technically challenged, coming up with seemingly brilliant ideas only to realize they have already been executed and trying to be meddlesome/helpful in whatever way he can. Most importantly though, he's probably in class right now trying to drill SAT drills into his students' heads and making a fuss about how we need to pay more attention to reading comprehensions and he just realized he's probably giving away trade secrets on a public forum! Ali Ahsan Instructor Alma Mater: LUMS Ali is a sophomore student at LUMS SSE and pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering degree, If things go well, he plans to add a minor in Biology. He is extremely passionate about science and books that extends far beyond what academic courses satisfy. Teaching excites him not only because he gets to impart knowledge and share experiences, but also because of the sublime feeling when I see my students get into the college of their choice. |
